From: Dianna Shipman To: Strathspey Articles Subject: Tabulation of ball dances Date: Fri, 13 Aug 1999 02:28:35 -0500 Reply-To: strathspey@tm.informatik.uni-frankfurt.DE I recently completed printing off the ball programs either posted on the internet or that I have received copies of for the coming dance season (i.e. fall 1999 thru early spring 2000) and tabulating them alphabetically showing frequency - if you'd like a copy send me an email - I don't mind posting it but it's 7 1/2 pages long single spaced and I don't want to overload anyone's email system. I hope to keep this up during the year. If anyone knows what the program will be for a ball in the coming year and it's not going to be posted on the internet, if you'll send it I'll add it in. We're doing a workshop here to teach dances that are starting to gain popularity and since my focus is on social dancing I'm interested in what's most popular - and we're trying to travel more as a group to out of town events. The most frequent so far: Mairi's Wedding - 14 (Almost every program had this one) Montgomeries' Rant - 10 Machine without Horses - 9 White Cockade - 8 Robertson's Rant - 8 The Saint John River - 7 Monymusk - 7 Reel of the Royal Scots - 7 De'il Amang the Tailors - 6 Flowers of Edinburgh - 6 General Stuart's Reel - 6 Laird of Milton's Daughter - 6 Maxwell's Rant - 6 Miss Gibson's Strathspey - 6 The Sailor - 6 St. Andrew's Fair - 6 Dianna L.
